US | USCIS Announces Trial for Updates to the Naturalization Test

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will pilot updates to the current naturalization test. The trial was announced on December 14 with a notice in the Federal Register. The changes will include an updated format and content in the civics component and a newly developed English-speaking component that could become standard.

The naturalization test’s changes will be evaluated based on feedback from stakeholders about the standardization and structure. The trial is tentatively scheduled to last for five months.
