On January 24, 2020, the US State Department (DOS) issued a Level 4 Alert: Do Not Travel to Hubei Province. On January 23, 2020, DOS ordered all non-emergency US personnel and their family members to leave the province. Emergency services for US citizens are limited in the Hubei Province.

Chinese authorities have restricted travel to a dozen cities in Hubei and several Lunar New Year festivities have been canceled. These travel restrictions will impact over 35 million people in the Hubei Province. Shanghai Disneyland will also temporarily shut down starting January 25, 2020, in response to the virus.
At this time, EIG recommends canceling nonessential travel to China given the uncertainty in the region.
