DHS Compliance with Court Order Extending TPS for El Salvador, Sudan, Haiti, and Nicaragua

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a notice in the Federal Register outlining its compliance with a preliminary injunction preventing the government from ending TPS designations for El Salvador, Sudan, Haiti, and Nicaragua. Initially, DHS will extend TPS (and accompanying work authorization) for Sudan and Nicaragua through April 2, 2019, while litigation regarding whether DHS actions were lawful in ending TPS earlier this year remains ongoing. TPS expiration for Haiti will remain July 22, 2019, and for El Salvador on September 9, 2019.
