Thailand Extends Visa Free Period for Russian Tourists for 60 Days

On April 23, 2024, the Thai Cabinet approved the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ proposal to extend the visa exemption for Russian tourists. The conditions are temporarily effective from May 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024 for the benefit of the economic and foreign dimensions with the Russian Federation.

Key Details
  1. Eligibility: Passport holders or those holding documents that can serve as a passport replacement of Russian nationality, who are visiting the Kingdom for tourism, will be allowed a stay of no more than 60 days.
  2. Additional Information: An accompanying release from the Immigration Bureau has also stated that the visa holder is allowed an extension for another 30 days. Furthermore, this type of visa can be converted to a NON-IMMIGRANT “B” visa, which is suitable for working in Thailand.
