Another Government Shutdown Possible Thursday

This week, Congress must pass another spending bill to prevent a second government shutdown. The House plans to vote today on a short-term spending bill to keep the government funded until March 22, but it is unclear if it will pass. Adding to the pressure of a possible shut down, the House is scheduled for a shortened week as House Democrats head to their annual legislative retreat Wednesday through Friday. A spending bill needs to be cleared by February 8 to prevent another shutdown.
