As a result of AILA’s report on long-delayed USCIS processing times, 86 Members of Congress, led by Rep. Jesús Garcia (D-Ill.), have signed a letter addressed to the USCIS Director, Francis Cissna expressing their concerns over these delays and requesting insight into any contributing factors. Specifically, they are requesting any analyses performed by USCIS on how the Trump Administration’s policies have impacted processing times. They also want to know how the agency plans to reduce and eliminate processing delays. The letter did not provide a deadline that USCIS must meet, but rather “urge[s] the agency to swiftly provide detailed answers to the queries.”
