USCIS Reaches Cap for H-2B Supplement

As previously reported, on May 25, DHS and DOL published a temporary final rule requiring USCIS to increase the additional H-2B nonimmigrant visa cap by up to 22,000 through the end of the fiscal year 2021.

On Thursday, June 3, USCIS announced they’d received enough petitions to reach the cap for the additional 16,000 H-2B visas made available for returning workers only. USCIS continues to accept petitions for H-2B nonimmigrant workers for the 6,000 visas allotted for nationals of Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador (collectively called the Northern Triangle).
