On Friday, April 6, USCIS announced it had reached the mandated 65,000 H-1B visa cap and the 20,000 cap for those with US Master’s degrees. Generally, applicants will either receive a receipt notice or a returned petition between mid-April and July. While it is not yet known how many petitions USCIS received this year, a total 199,000 petitions were submitted last year.
