US Government to Deport Migrants to Libya (Reports)

The details of the planned flights to Libya have not been shared and the White House, State Department, and Department of Homeland Security have declined to comment.

In 2024, the State Department cited “harsh and life-threatening” conditions in Libya’s detention centers and that migrants in those facilities did not have “access to immigration courts or due process.” The US State Department currently lists Libya as a Level 4: Do Not Travel location.
