Ur Jaddou was confirmed by the Senate to be Director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Jaddou was the former director of DHS Watch, a project of America’s Voice, as well as Chief Counsel of USCIS and Chief Counsel of the Immigration Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee. Jaddou’s priorities are reducing visa backlogs, improving technology, and increasing agency resources and processes. She will be the first woman of Mexican and Arab descent to lead the agency.
