EIG recently posted an update on Brexit. EU nationals residing in the UK continuously for 5 years by December 31, 2020, will be eligible for settled or “pre-settled” status depending on their length of tenure in the country, allowing them to settle in the UK permanently. EIG recommends that all employers provide their UK based EU national employees with an employment verification letter, and assist in document preparation confirming their eligibility for pre-settled or settled status within 3 months of arrival to the UK in anticipation of the new scheme.
