UK | Immigration Health Surcharge Set to Double

As part of applying for a work permit in the UK, foreign nationals from countries outside the European Economic Area have to pay an immigration health surcharge. In exchange, international employees in the UK have the same access to the National Health Service (NHS) as British citizens while residing in the country. Plans have been announced to double the healthcare surcharge from £200 per year to £400 per year. The new fee is expected to come into effect in December 2018.
