US | TSA Adds Gender ‘X’ to the TSA PreCheck Process

The TSA PreCheck program application has been updated to include an additional gender marker option, ‘X.’ This action will ensure the TSA PreCheck system accurately reflects traveler gender.

As of April 2022, TSA has allowed TSA PreCheck applicants to select their gender based on self-attestation, regardless of the sex assigned at birth. Additionally, the TSA’s policies and procedures are being updated to limit the use of gender-based pat-down searches and other measures deemed particularly invasive for transgender people.

From April 11, U.S. citizens could select an ‘X’ as their gender marker on their U.S. passport application.

TSA PreCheck members can request a gender data update by calling (855) 347-8371.
