Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid announced numerous changes to visa and residency laws in the UAE. Designed to attract top talent and investors, as well as ease regulatory burdens, the changes include the following:
- New ten-year visas in STEM-related occupations;
- New five-year visas for graduates of UAE institutions, with a ten-year option for “exceptional” graduates;
- End of a requirement that new businesses be at least 51% locally owned (outside of “free zones”).
