The Spanish Ministry of Health will continue categorizing all European Union/Schengen Area countries as risk countries from January 6 through January 16, 2022. Travelers from “Risk” countries must follow certain entry rules to enter Spain.
The Risk List includes Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
Requirements for Travelers
- Travelers with negative test results or who have recovered from or are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can travel to Spain without additional entry requirements, including those from Risk List countries.
- Unvaccinated travelers from the EU/Schengen Area must present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test result upon their arrival.
- Children under the age of 12 are not required to present any supporting documents.
Regardless of age or country of origin, all travelers are required to complete the Health Control Form.
The High-Risk category will continue to apply to Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe until January 31. Flights are suspended between Spain and these countries.
People from High-Risk countries who receive an exception to travel to Spain must provide proof of vaccination or recovery and a negative COVID-19 test. In addition, upon arrival, they will need to complete a 10-day quarantine.
