South Korea Introduces New Quarantine Procedures for Some Vaccinated Travelers

From May 5, travelers who were fully vaccinated in South Korea will be exempt from the quarantine requirement and will only be required to self-monitor for 14 days instead. For all other travelers, the 14-day quarantine requirement remains in place.

Who is Eligible?

  • South Korean Nationals and Long-Term Foreign Residents who completed their COVID-19 vaccination in South Korea at least 14 days before leaving South Korea.
  • Upon return, the traveler tests negative for COVID-19 and is asymptomatic, and again tests negative on days 6/7 and 12/13.

Exempted travelers will have to produce proof of their vaccination, install the Self-Quarantine App, and get their immigration records checked to receive a Quarantine Notice.
