Singapore to Require Vaccination for Permanent Residents, Long-Term and Work Pass Holders

The Government of Singapore announced that from February 1, 2022, COVID-19 vaccination will be a condition for the approval or grant of new long-term passes, work passes, and permanent residence. Vaccination will also be required for work pass renewals.

What to Expect for Work Pass Holders
  • At the time of application, employers will be required to certify that their work pass holders and their dependents are fully vaccinated upon arrival in Singapore.
  • Pass holders must present their vaccination certification, either digitally through the ICA’s Vaccination Check Portal system or by showing the certificates to the airlines, ferry operators, or checkpoints before boarding.
  • Individuals vaccinated outside of Singapore must update their records in the National Immunization Registry (NIR) within 30 days of arrival in Singapore.
  • All pass holders must follow the prevailing immigration entry requirements and health protocols in Singapore.
Exemptions

The vaccination requirement will not apply to the following:

  • Individuals younger than 12 years old
  • Individuals 12 to 18 years old
  • Pass holders who are medically ineligible for vaccination
