Russia Issues Migration Registration Rules for World Cup

Any business travelers or work permit-holders traveling in Russia for the World Cup (between May 25 and July 25) must register with the Ministry of Internal Affairs within three days of arriving in the host city. Employers generally are required to register foreign employees at their place of business and face monetary fines for not doing so. As it is anticipated that many expatriates living in Russia will travel within the country for matches, it is advised that they adhere closely to all rules associated with attending matches, including carrying a valid passport and registering for a “Fan ID.”
