With great sadness, we share the passing of Jerry Erickson, Erickson Immigration Group’s founder.
More than 30 years ago, Jerry founded Erickson Immigration Group with the goal of taking the immigration process, which by all measures is professionally and personally challenging, and making it better. He was honored to do this work, to help people achieve their dreams, improve their lives, and support their families. He never took for granted the trust that our clients gave and the importance of being a true partner.
As a business leader, he sought to stand out by seeking to understand. He was an earnest listener, avid reader and rejected the status quo. He wanted EIG to be remarkable, and he showed us how every day. As a boss and mentor, Jerry was generous with his time, keeping his door open and, in the more recent Zoom years, his camera on. He welcomed every employee and celebrated our wins, personal and professional. He was a champion of women, celebrated the diversity within our firm, and pushed all of us to stay ahead of the curve.
Jerry believed in rolling up his sleeves, raising a hand when something could or should be done better, and lending a hand. Jerry modeled EIG’s commitment to doing good within our community and our world in big and small ways and without any fanfare.
If you were not lucky enough to have known Jerry personally, by working with EIG over the years, you got to see the best of him. His values and ethos shaped EIG from the first hire and the first client and continue to leave an indelible imprint on all of us who are grateful to have learned from him.
Jerry had a zest for life — embracing travel and new adventures, sharing his favorite restaurants, encouraging others to join him in his yoga practice, and outrunning all of us in our annual 10K. Jerry was a proud son and brother, devoted father and husband, and to us, he was a mentor and friend.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered,
Robert Taylor, Justin Parsons, Alejandra Zapatero, Hiba Anver and the EIG Team
