From November 1, 2021, people arriving in NSW who are fully vaccinated will not need to quarantine. They must take a COVID-19 test on arrival and provide proof of vaccination as recognized by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and have their vaccination status certified by the Commonwealth.
People arriving in NSW from overseas who are not fully vaccinated must quarantine for 14 days. There will be a cap of arrivals allowing up to 210 people who are not fully vaccinated per week.
Also from November 1, a parent of an adult Australian will be considered an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or permanent resident for the purposes of applying for a travel exemption to travel to Australia.
Additionally expected in November, fully vaccinated Australians will be eligible to leave for international travel without first seeking an exemption. The government has announced that Australian citizens or permanent residents aged 12 and over who have received two doses of a recognized vaccine will be able to travel without needing an exemption. Children under 12 and those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons will also be able to travel overseas without an exemption.
