New Zealand | Partner Work Visa Changes Deferred to April 2023

The New Zealand Minister of Immigration announced the planned changes for the visa requirements for partners of temporary work visa holders have been deferred to April 2023. These changes were initially set to come into effect in December 2022.

The delay will allow the Government to implement stakeholder feedback as it relates to providing certainty to migrant partners of their ability to work in New Zealand and to streamline the process.
