Mais Moran

Associate Attorney

Mais Moran is an associate attorney at Erickson Immigration Group, focusing on employment-based immigrant visa petitions.

During law school, Mais worked at various immigration law firms, handling family-based cases then transitioning to high volume employment-based clientele. She has extensive knowledge in the PERM process, EB-1s, I-140s, RFEs, AUDITS, Adjustment of Status, and Consular Processing. She briefly worked at an insurance defense firm, managing first and third-party claims. Knowing first-hand the complexities of immigration law by experiencing it herself when emigrating from Iraq to the U.S., she enjoys finding ways to streamline the process for her clients. 

Mais graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of law with her Juris Doctor in 2017. During law school, she was the Vice President of the 1L Evening Division of the Student Bar Association. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, double majoring in Philosophy and Political Science. She is fluent in Arabic and English. 

Mais is actively involved in multiple bar associations including the State Bar of Michigan, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (Wayne and Oakland Division), National Arab American Bar Association (national and Michigan Chapter), and American Bar Association. She sits on multiple committees within the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and is the current Vice President of the National Arab American Bar Association – Michigan Chapter. 

In her spare time, Mais enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, traveling, and cooking.
