Jagruti Jokhaker

Associate Attorney

Jagruti Jokhaker comes from a family of immigrants and has seen the immigration journey of her parents and other community members firsthand. She has a genuine passion to help people and make a difference in the lives of immigrants. Seeing her parents’ Naturalization ceremony at the age of 9 left a big impact on her. Her passion for immigration stems from seeing a room full of people from all walks of life excitedly standing to take the oath of allegiance to the United States.

Jagruti joins EIG with more than 10 years of experience in Immigration Law. Before coming to EIG, she worked as in-house immigration counsel for a corporation for 6 years and prior to then at an immigration firm in Houston, Texas.  Jagruti has extensive experience with NIV and IV employment and family-based matters, including H-1B, TN, E-3, O-1 visas, adjustment of status applications, and I-140 petitions. She has represented clients in detention and removal matters at the US southern border, represented clients at Asylum hearings at immigration courts across the country, and handled USCIS interviews and Board of Immigration appeals.

“Over the years, I have prepared hundreds of NIV and IV petitions; however, the most important aspect of each petition was the human being behind the cases. Realizing that behind every case, there is a story, I put 100% into all my cases because I know that these men and women are entrusting me with their immigration status.”
