On April 15, 2025, the government of the Maldives announced it would ban Israeli nationals from entry. The entry ban is in response to Israel’s ongoing war with Hamas.
The entry ban was originally proposed in June 2024, but on April 15, 2025, the parliament amended the Maldives Immigration Act to bar entry. It is unclear when the ban will take effect.
