On November 17, the Government of Japan issued significant changes to the AMPA process, Japan’s initial plans to reopen.
Key Changes
- Documents will now be submitted online via a designated website instead of via email and attachments.
- A third party is now allowed to represent a client company and submit the AMPA application on their behalf. However, a third party is NOT permitted to update information once submitted; this must be done by the client company by logging in to a designated website.
- The Activity Plan can be submitted and then finalized before the traveler arrives in Japan. The Activity Plan details the work to be performed in Japan by the traveler.
