This week, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced a migration agreement, MATES (Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early Professionals Scheme).
The new scheme has been “specifically created for India.” It will promote the two-way mobility of students, graduates, academic researchers, and business people while enhancing cooperation to prevent irregular migration and smuggling.
