Egypt’s Ministry of Manpower and other select government agencies will work remotely every Sunday through August. As a result, processing times for work permits are expected to be slower than usual. Employers are encouraged to plan ahead and submit permit applications in advance and are warned to anticipate delays.
The remote work is an effort to reduce electricity usage.
