Heavy Processing Delays in Prep for Ramadan

Significant processing delays can be expected at embassies, consulates, passport agencies, visa offices, and other government facilities in countries officially celebrating Ramadan, the Muslim holy month. Beginning this year in mid-May and lasting approximately one month, Ramadan generally involves amended hours of operation, closures, and reduced staff numbers, as observant workers prepare for related celebrations during the month.
