USCIS released a report last month detailing data about H-1B workers for FY 2014 through FY 2017. Since 2014, the number of filed petitions has increased by 26%, and most of the approved petitions have been for those aliens continuing employment, as opposed to new hires. For FY 2017, the categories with the highest number of H1-B workers were:

- Age: 30-34 years
- Profession: computer-based occupation
- Average salary: $94,000/year
