Effective June 1, travelers will no longer have to wear masks in airports and on aircraft within Greece.
Earlier this month, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) issued a joint document updating the COVID-19 guidance for travelers in airports and on aircraft. As a result, as of May 16, face masks were no longer mandatory in air travel. However, mask rules continue to vary by airline and country.
The agencies recommend that vulnerable populations continue wearing face masks, noting that they provide some of the best protection against the transmission of COVID-19.
