From January 1, 2024, the French government made the application process for a French Schengen Visa available completely online for the participants of the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. The “Olympic Consulate” will process thousands of visa applications for athletes, journalists, and Olympic and Paralympic delegations.
The Olympic Consultate system will allow the French immigration authorities to differentiate between the Olympic and Paralympic applications and the general applications.
France is the first EU country to process Schengen visas online, in line with the visa digitization plans the EU Parliament adopted in October 2023.
