To increase tourism and economic activity, Ethiopia has announced an expansion of its online e-visa program to include all international travelers. The program, which began in June 2017, was initially available only to travelers from 37 select countries. This expansion was launched by Ethiopia’s Immigration and Nationality Affairs Main Department in conjunction with Ethiopian Airlines to reduce visa processing times through digitization. The new process allows travelers to apply and pay for an entry visa online, receive an email upon approval, and obtain a visa stamp upon their arrival in Ethiopia.
