From August 18, Estonia will stop issuing visas to Russian nationals. Additionally, Russians with a Schengen visa issued by Estonia will no longer be permitted entry into the country.
According to Estonia’s foreign ministry, the policy change is meant to maintain the purpose of the sanctions the Estonian government has imposed on Russia.
Still, exceptions will remain for students about to finish their educational programs at higher education institutions in Estonia. Their residence permits will be extended for one year until August 2023.
