International Updates

Argentina | President Alberto Fernandez announced the government would extend the lockdown in and around Buenos Aires until July 17.

Fernandez said, “The economy is deteriorating, but the economy will recover. What, unfortunately, we are not going to recover are those thousand Argentines who have left us.”

Ireland | The country will maintain the 14-day quarantine for travelers from the British mainland in July, even as restrictions with other countries are easing.

Peru | The government will lift the lockdown measures across most of the country, including the capital, in July. Peru’s borders will remain closed.

Qatar | From July 1, the government is further easing the coronavirus-related restrictions, allowing for the limited reopening of businesses, parks, and beaches. The next phase, which includes allowing flights from low-risk countries, is set to begin on August 1.

Sri Lanka | The government has lifted the nationwide lockdown that was first imposed on March 20.
