International Updates

Canada | From July 17, Ontario will move into the third phase of its reopening, allowing most business and public spaces to reopen.

Separately, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Canada and the United States were continuing talks about the future status of the non-essential travel ban, which is currently scheduled to end on July 21.

Honduras | The government is extending the nationwide curfew for another week.

Ireland | The government is considering a 14-day quarantine for people traveling abroad.

“The cabinet will be discussing measures this week that may be needed, such as strengthening measures at airports, ahead of issuing a possible green list of countries,” said tourism minister Catherine Martin.

Israel | The Israeli Ministry of Interior updated the COVID-19 instructions regarding entry to Israel. Any individual entering Israel must commit to remaining in house isolation for 14-days. Additionally, foreign nationals will not be allowed to board flights to Israel without holding a pre-entry approval from the Ministry of Interior. Foreign nationals must present health insurance with COVID-19 coverage. Any foreign national departing from Israel before the end of the 14-day isolation without special permission violates the law, and an additional entry will not be allowed.

Foreign nationals holding a one-year B-1 expert visa and their families, can now travel to their home country and back to Israel, subject to a pre-approved application for re-entry during COVID-19. The special re-entry application must be submitted (and approved) at the Ministry of Interior before departure.

Kazakhstan | The government will extend the current lockdown by two weeks.

Sri Lanka | A week after the government eased restrictions, schools are being ordered to reclose following a surge of new COVID-19 cases. The school-status will be reviewed next week.
