International Updates
Israel | On Sunday, the Health Ministry announced a group of “Green Locations.” Travelers entering Israel from these locations will not be required to quarantine: Austria, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Georgia, Hungary, Hong Kong, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, New Zealand, Rwanda, and Slovenia. This list will be updated as conditions change.
Israel also maintains a list of Red Locations. Travelers coming from a Red Location, including most travelers from Green Locations who spent time in a Red Location within the past 14 days before arrival, will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.

Italy | Travelers arriving in Rome from Croatia, Greece, Malta, and Spain will be tested for the coronavirus at the airport or within 48 hours at a public health office closer to their destination in Italy.
Health Minister Roberto Speranza signed a decree to close nightclubs from Monday for three weeks and mandated face masks are worn from 6 PM to 6 AM in public spaces.

Jordan | From Monday, the government will close off entry/exit to Ramtha city, near the Syrian border.

Lebanon | The health minister has declared a two-week lockdown to attempt to slow the infection rate within the country.

The Netherlands | New travel advisories will go into effect for people traveling to Belgium, France, and Spain. People who travel to those countries will be required to quarantine at home for two weeks.

Singapore | The land border between Singapore and Malaysia has reopened for business trips for up to 14 days.

On July 31, the U.S. Department of Labor announced it had reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to allow both agencies to share immigrant petition and data records amongst each other freely. This latest agreement adds to the growing concern of privacy erosion. In last week’s Immigration Nerds podcast, we look at examples of administrative actions from the past year to expand the practice of collecting private information.
