The United Kingdom has begun making plans for those affected by travel restrictions due to reasons associated with Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Home Office has taken a sympathetic approach as they understand that circumstances are out of the immigrant’s control. Chinese nationals, who have been compliant with their visas, whose visa is set to expire between January 24, 2020, and March 30, 2020, will have their visas automatically extended to March 31, 2020.
During this extension, all Chinese nationals should be aware that they will be subject to the same conditions attached to their visa. All Chinese nationals who have already applied to extend their visa do not have any additional steps. Non-Chinese nationals who are Chinese residents may also be eligible for visa extension but will need to contact the coronavirus immigration helpline in order to prove your Chinese residence before being granted the extension.
