USCIS Making Strides to Modernize and Digitize its Processes

In an effort to modernize and streamline USCIS processes, the agency announced on May 22, 2019, that it is rolling out a new eProcessing strategy. While most application processes will remain, for the time being, with physical petitions submitted by mail, USCIS is now accepting certain applications that can be submitted online. In this initial rollout, certain I-539 applications for extensions of  B, F, and M statuses may be filed online. Ultimately, USCIS plans to make online filing available for all immigration benefits to improve processing times and increase transparency.
