Dept. of Labor Asks for Public Input to Assess STEM, AI Worker Shortages

The US Department of Labor (DOL) has issued a Request for Information (RFI), Labor Certification for Permanent Employment of Foreign Workers in the United States; Modernizing Schedule A to Include Consideration of Additional Occupations in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Non-STEM Occupations. The RFI asks the public for data related to labor shortages in STEM and artificial intellegence (AI) occupations. The publication of the RFI fulfills one of President Biden’s Executive Order on AI initiatives.

The DOL invites the public to comment on the RFI. After the RFI is published a link will be provided and the comment period will be open for 60 days. All comments, including any personal information provided wihtin, will become public record and posted without change to www.regulations.gov.
