Chile Updates Requirements for International Arrivals

The Chilean government has issued new requirements for travel into Chile. The changes announced on Sunday, September 19, will go into effect on October 1.

Entry:

    • Chileans and foreigners residing in Chile can enter the country through any authorized border crossing.
      • Travelers must complete an “Affidavit of Travelers” up to 48 hours before boarding; provide a negative result of a PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 taken no more than 72 hours before boarding. Children under 2 years old are exempt.
      • Travelers must isolate upon arrival. Mobility Pass holders or those proof of vaccination received aboard must isolate for 5 days; People without a Mobility Pass or without validation of the vaccines received abroad must isolate for 7 days.
      • Travelers must self-report their health status for 14 days after arrival.
    • Non-resident foreigners in Chile with a Chilean mobility pass can enter the country at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, Iquique Airport, and Antofagasta Airport.
      • Travelers must complete an “Affidavit of Travelers” up to 48 hours before boarding; provide a negative result of a PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 taken no more than 72 hours before boarding. Children under 2 years old are exempt.
      • Travelers must have medical insurance that covers expenses of at least USD $ 30,000.
      • Travelers must isolate upon arrival. Mobility Pass holders or those proof of vaccination received aboard must isolate for 5 days; People without a Mobility Pass or without validation of the vaccines received abroad must isolate for 7 days.
      • Travelers must self-report their health status for 14 days after arrival.

Exit:

    • Chileans and foreigners residing in Chile with the mobility pass enabled (does not include minors without mobility pass), may exit at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, Iquique Airport, and Antofagasta Airport.
    • Chileans and foreigners residing in Chile with an Exceptional permit to leave the country, obtained at a virtual police station, may exit at any open border crossing.
    • Non-resident foreigners in Chile can leave the country through any authorized border crossing.
