From October 1, 2021, non-resident foreigners who are fully vaccinated will be able to enter Chile. Chile’s Protected Borders plan has evolved throughout the pandemic, as vaccines have become more globally available, and international travel has resumed.
Requirements for Foreign National Travelers to Chile
- Validate their vaccination scheme at www.mevacuno.gob.cl, a process that could take up to a month.
- Sign an affidavit at least 48 hours before boarding and show proof of a negative PCR test given less than 72 hours before traveling.
- Maintain medical insurance with a minimum coverage of US$30,000.
- Complete a mandatory five-day period of self-isolation.
Travelers will only be able to enter the country via the Iquique, Antofagasta, and Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez airports.
Travelers will be asked to self-report their health status for 14 days after their arrival in Chile.
