The government of Ireland has reverted to the original stamp 4 eligibility process – foreign national employees residing in the State on a Stamp 1 are eligible for a Stamp 4 upon completion of 21 months from commencement of employment in the State on the basis of a CSEP. The date the employee registered with a stamp 1 no longer determines their eligibility.
Another development is that foreign national employees who have completed 57 months of employment in the State on the basis of a GEP or an ICT permit can now apply for a Stamp 4 (previously ICT permit holders were not eligible for Stamp 4 at all and GEP holders were only eligible upon completion of 5 years of employment in the State on a GEP).
