Brazil and Japan to Introduce a Visa-Waiver

Effective September 30, 2023, the government of Japan will introduce a visa waiver for nationals of Brazil holding ordinary passports who wish to enter Japan for stays of up to 90 days.

However, if a person is planning to work in Japan, they will still be required to apply for a work permit.

The Government of Brazil will continue its visa waiver measure for Japanese nationals so that Japanese and Brazilian citizens will be able to visit mutually without obtaining visas from September 30, 2023.
