Australia Expands Employer Nominated Permanent Residence Pathway

Legislative changes from November 2023 have expanded the Temporary Residence Transition pathway (TRTS) to most 482 workers in Australia once they have worked for their nominating employer for 2 years on a 482 visa.

Key Information
  • Occupation list requirements no longer apply for TRTS applications.
  • Apart from 482 visa holders on the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills list of Occupations (MLTSSL), permanent residence opportunities are now also open to 482 visa holders on the Short Term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL) as well as Regional Occupations list (ROL).
  • While the occupation list requirements have been removed, the usual requirements continue to apply such as candidates being of good health and character and evidencing good English skills.
