Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced that a new Visa Application Center (VAC) will open in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, on September 14, 2026, making it easier for customers in Tonga to access New Zealand visa services locally.
The VAC, operated by VFS Global on behalf of INZ, will allow people to submit paper visa applications and supporting documents through a dedicated, face-to-face service. Customers will also benefit from longer opening hours and the convenience of booking an appointment on the VFS Global Tonga website.
The Tonga VAC is located at the General Post Office, Ground Floor, Salote and Taufa‘ahau Road, Nuku’alofa.
From September 14, 2026, all Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) visa applications must be submitted through the Tonga VAC. INZ Tonga staff will be available during the opening weeks to support customers submitting RSE applications.
Applicants using the service will pay a VAC service fee of TOP 86. For RSE visa applications, the fee will be TOP 43 per application, in addition to any applicable visa application fee.
Applicants who need to submit a scanned copy of their passport with their application can also have their passports scanned at the Tonga VAC. Applicants can book an appointment, and a passport scanning fee applies.
