USCIS announced that it plans to refund a total of $55 million to around 94,000 applicants who paid the $580 application fee for the Biden administration’s now-defunct parole-in-place (PIP) program. The program was deemed unlawful in federal court in November and would have allowed undocumented spouses of U.S. Citizens and their minor children to apply for lawful permanent residence without first having to leave the country.
