USCIS Encourages Green Card Applicants to Respond to RFEs Before End of FY2023

USCIS, on September 25, has sent out guidance regarding employment-based visa green card applicants who receive a request for evidence for the Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. These applicants are encouraged to respond to RFEs as soon as possible, and not wait the entire 87-day response period.

USCIS notes that although applicants have up to 87 days to respond to the RFE, if they response as soon as possible, USCIS may adjudicate the application and, if the case is approved, allocate an immigrant visa before October 1, 2023.

Visa allocations for fiscal year 2023 end September 30, 2023. If a visa is not allocated before the cutoff date, USCIS cannot adjudicate the case, and the case will be reviewed per the FY 2024 visa allocations.

Applicants may returen a completed RFE response by mail, commercial services, and courier to the address on the RFE notice.
