US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced it has received enough petitions to meet the statutory H‑2B visa cap for the second half of fiscal year 2026.
March 10, 2026, was the final date USCIS accepted new cap‑subject H‑2B petitions requesting employment start dates between April 1 and September 30, 2026. USCIS will reject petitions received after that date for employment during this period.
Supplemental H‑2B Visa Filing Dates Available
USCIS has also released filing dates for the second and third allocations of supplemental H‑2B visas for FY 2026. These additional visas are intended to address labor shortages for US employers with temporary nonagricultural workforce needs.
Details on visa availability and filing timelines are posted on USCIS’s Temporary Increase in H‑2B Nonimmigrant Visas for FY 2026 page.
