US TSA Extends Face Mask Requirement through 2022

Travelers on all US transportation networks — including at airports, on board commercial aircraft, on buses, commuter buses, and rail systems — will be required to wear a face mask through January 18, 2022. The face mask requirement is an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) first introduced the face mask requirement on January 31, 2021, and later extended it through September 13, 2021.

Air travelers should always check with their carrier about additional inflight requirements, and all travelers should refer to the CDC website for additional guidance.
