The State Department has classified Canada as a Level 2 Risk, Exercise Increased Caution. Similarly, the Centers for Disease Control has revised the Travel Notice for Canada to Level 2. These classification revisions come a day after Canada reopened it’s borders to vaccinated US travelers.
What to Expect
- Travelers should review the Embassy webpage for information on conditions in Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency for all information on entry and exit requirements to Canada.

Canada reopened its borders to travelers from the US who are fully vaccinated as of August 9, with tentative plans to expand to all fully vaccinated international travelers on September 7.
